Mission Statement

The mission of the Kempsville High School Counseling Department is to provide an equitable and comprehensive school counseling program to all students through the implementation of data-driven interventions.  The school counseling program is designed to enhance students’ academic, career, and social/emotional development, thus equipping students to be independent, responsible, academically proficient, critical and creative thinkers who are technically and globally literate.

You must have the registration form completed with all the required documents prior to your appointment. Please stop by the school counseling office during registration hours to pick up the  registration packet and schedule your appointment. All schedule change request forms must be returned to the School Counseling office prior to July 31, 2018. Any forms returned after this date will not be given consideration.

Access College Info 

Juniors and Seniors can pick up an ACCESS College Handbook and FAFSA Packet in the guidance office! Parents, sign up for a FAFSA appointment with Mr. Altman.

Parent/Teacher Conference Sign-ups

Kempsville High School hosts an opportunity to meet with your student's teachers all at the same time once a month. Seating is limited, so it is imperative that you sign up in advance. There will not be registration on the day of the event.

Has your family moved? Have any of your phone numbers changed?

Please be sure and update this information with the School Counseling Office before the end of school! Many important pieces of information are sent home to students over the summer. If we do not have your new information on file, you will be missing out on report cards, testing scores, back to school information, etc.

Parchment Transcript Ordering

Current students may request a transcript free of charge through Parchment. (See your counselor for registration code if you are making a new account.)

Students who graduated 2016 or later may also request their transcript through Parchment.

Students who graduated in or prior to the year 2016 must request their transcript through the district
